House Delaque, is the house of stealth, subterfuge, and sabotage.
Necromunda, a hive world in Segmentum Solar. A major producer of munitions for the Astra Militarum, known sector wide for the production of Lasguns, Autoguns, Shotguns and even Bolters. Also a recruitment world for the Space Marine chapter Imperial Fists. As with most hive worlds, the lower portions of each hive is fought over almost endlessly by gangs for the few resources that are available. The ruler of Necromunda is Lord Helmawr, his family has ruled over Necromunda for at least the last 7000 years. The society that he rules over is divided into many factions that variously compete and cooperate with each other. Helmawr retains his control by giving or removing support for different factions as needed to ensure no one faction becomes too powerful. There are 6 major factions on Necromunda;
House Cawdor, known to be fanatical believers in the Imperial Creed.
House Delaque, specialising in spying and assassinations, untrusted by the other house.
House Escher, unlike the houses Escher is made up solely of women, men are held in contempt and are pitied.
House Goliath, size and physical strength are everything to a member of this house, members often take stims and other drugs to enhance their strength.
House Orlock; Members of this house are often found in the deep hive, mining the ferrous slag deposits, and recently have brought themselves into direct conflict with House Delaque.
House Van Saar, known for the high quality of their goods much in demand by the nobles of the upper spire, making them one of the wealthiest houses.
So why did I pick Delaque, well the short answer is spys. The longer answer is I really like the idea of this house that survives by knowing everyone's secrets, and killing anyone they can't buy off or black mail.
As with most of the newer kits coming out of Games Workshop, the box for House Delaque is brilliant. Comes with two of the same sprues, that are PACKED with loads of stuff. From pistols to rifles and grenades! I've built one box with a good mix of options, and my second box I am going to be adding in the Forge World upgrade pack parts, I plan on doing some more of the exotic options like the heavy flamer, the web gun and the web gauntlet.
I have played one game against Alex (one of the brilliant staff in Warhammer - Liverpool) against his GeneStealer Cult, and look forward to playing more! Once this COVID 19 finally subsides. I was lucky enough to have received a copy of the Necromunda: Dark Uprising (Thanks Mum!)that I have built and am now ready to get started painting! So I have a good start for terrain so I can play at home. I'm hoping to convince a few more people I know to start playing as well.
